Role Summary: The Electronic Hardware Engineer – AC / DC Rectifier Design will design innovative power supply products for telecommunications, high-computing, datacenter, and industrial applications and lead the product development process from concept realization through introduction of product into high volume production. These projects will include New Product Introduction, Direct Material Productivity, resolving customer issues, and sustaining of existing products.
Essential Responsibilities: As the Electronic Hardware Engineer, you will:
Lead / execute all phases of development: detailed definition, design, qualification, certification, manufacturing implementation, and production startup
Evaluate customer requirements and selecting appropriate circuits for AC / DC applications (PFC, LLC, etc.)
Perform design analysis including modeling, simulation, and control loops
Create schematic, bills of material, and high density PWB (Production Wing Block) layout with sophisticated noise and EMI (Electromagnetic Interference) mitigation
Understand UL and IEC standards requirements that govern electronics products. Develop and execute design, quality, and certification plans to meet these requirements
Conduct magnetics design, configuration, and optimization
Optimize designs with an eye toward efficiency, density, and cost
Analyze results and present findings at technical design reviews to ensure design robustness, efficiency, future maintainability and supportability
Communicate with technical and product management on technical matters
Share engineering information and promote open dialogue
Provide technical support for production and field product issues
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering / Power Electronics from an accredited university or college
Minimum of 2 years of engineering design experience in AC / DC rectifiers
Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering / Power Electronics
Experience with designing AC / DC power supplies, test and analysis tools, and systems
