Role Summary:
The Lead Product Engineer - Busway will lead all aspects of product ownership for US based low voltage Busway market.



Essential Responsibilities:
As the Lead Product Engineer - Busway, you will:

  • Lead all aspects of product ownership for US based low voltage Busway market
  • Develop technical specifications and fully scope new product introduction (NPI) programs complying to NEMA / IEC / UL standards
  • Strong project management skills
  • Work closely with product marketing in development of multi-generational product plans (MGPP) and scope / support execution of small and large NPI projects
  • Define opportunities and support execution of Busway cost-out projects
  • Develop proactive, product quality improvements while working closely with manufacturing support team to resolve existing quality issues
  • Use teamwork to build a strong, diverse global product team
  • Work with solid modeling tools (Creo) and documents control processes (Windchill) to ensure product design quality / accuracy
  • Apply Design for Six Sigma (DFSS), Reliability (DFR), and Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) practices in product design activities


Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or other Engineering discipline
  • Minimum of 3 years of product development and manufacturing producibility experience

  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated project leadership with a diverse, global team
  • Proven ability to resolve conflict and prioritize actions for maximum business impact
  • Demonstrated ability in analysis, testing, and creative problem solving
  • Understanding of the National Electric Code and its effect on Busway applications
  • Knowledge of DFSS, DFR, GD&T, and NPI processes
  • Experience working with standards / agencies such as UL, IEC, IEEE, etc
  • Minimum 2 years of low voltage busway / bus duct product development experience
  • Minimum 3 years of electrical equipment product development experience
  • Experience with electrical power and control circuit design including protection, transformers, meters, etc
  • Experience using Agile / Fastworks methodology
  • Master's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • GE Edison Engineering Development Program graduate (GE Employees Only)
  • DFSS Greenbelt certified or equivalent quality certification
