Role Summary: The Project order Manager acts as primary customer contact for the duration of each project order through commissioning; resolves specification issues; handles correspondence; provides periodic updates; ensures customer satisfaction; negotiates/coordinates with Sales staff as appropriate for customer-requested changes (price and delivery); arranges witness tests; coordinates field service activities with appropriate Service Manager; manages contract and terms.
Essential Responsibilities: Manages and reports all financial aspects of the project order including budgets, costs, margin, invoicing, and receivable collection; promotes change order growth; provides estimate-at-completion forecasts Develops and maintains project order schedule, critical control points to cover all order management activities Directs and administers project-related activities to ensure that projects order are completed on-time, within internal and external quality/specification requirements; follows GE Quality and QMS procedures Facilitates project order closeout reports and Project Review meetings Provides leadership and direction to other functions within the project order team Participates in the ITO proposal process on large or high-risk projects order Implements continuous improvement through Six Sigma quality; seeks out and champions Lean processes
Qualifications/Requirements: Bachelor’s degree Minimum 3 years of project management experience Up to 30% travel required
Desired Characteristics: Bachelor’s degree in an engineering Greenbelt certified (GE employees only) Proven leadership skills in a matrix organization Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Strong organizational, analytical, and problem solving abilities Solid understanding of basic financial concepts and measurements Good oral, written and presentation communication skills Strong computer skills MBA 5+ years experience in industry field or valve company experience 2+ years experience in project management Sales and/or customer interface experience Oracle & SAP Enterprise Software experience Project order management software experience
