Role Summary:
The GE Digital Threat Management team is looking for an experienced Security Analytics Engineer to work on a number of exciting cloud based security platforms to protect GE’s businesses. This role involves applying contemporary threat detection use cases to large datasets to advance GE’s security capabilities.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • A successful candidate will collaborate with mission-based, expert teams to build innovative security analytics solutions that enable continuous adaption to modern cyber-security threats.
  • Design, Prototype, Test and Implement Analytics using mathematics, statistics and machine learning to address critical threat detection use cases utilizing cloud-based technologies and tools
  • Apply data-driven methodology to existing gaps in threat detection to deliver solutions that enhance threat coverage and reduce risk in GE’s networked environments
  • Perform variety of in-depth analysis, data modeling, and data design tasks on complicated datasets with potentially complex data integration scenarios
  • Leverage strong engineering & analytics background to apply new visualization and modeling techniques to data
  • Engage security experts and software development teams across the business and incorporate knowledge capture into new analytics solutions
  • Demonstrate ability to collaborate on large scale development projects in a fast-paced and agile environment using the latest software development techniques, infrastructure, engineering practices
  • Work effectively with geographically dispersed teams, at times leveraging asynchronous communication methods
  • Creates shared awareness of relationships and correlation opportunities across multiple data sources and logging systems to enable data enrichment within security analytics platforms
  • Mentor and guide other engineers in various analytic methods to increase expertise across the team





Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Degree in Computer Science or a related technical degree, or strong IT experience
  • Strong experience coding in data management, data warehousing or unstructured data environments
  • Hands on experience working with AWS native services (Kenisis, Lambda, RDS)
  • Strong experience writing application code (Python, R,SQL,Hadoop, HIVE, Java)





Desired Characteristics:
  • Stong cyber security background or experience with detailed understanding of APT,Cyber Crime and associated tactics.
  • Experience with conducting numerical and statistical analysis with large datasets
  • Experience with machine learning tools and techniques
  • Experience with Relational Database Systems and SQL
    Experience designing, developing, and implementing ETL
  • Experience working on large, complex, data problems
  • Working knowledge of data collection, processing and transformation for large scale applications
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
