Role Summary: The Sr Cyber Security Software Engineer will join a multi-functional Agile team to build custom solutions for GE's Computer Incident Response Team (CIRT). You will have opportunities to work with other passionate engineers with a wide array of experiences and talent and a forum to display your own. Sr. Cyber Security Software Engineers are capable of expanding their ability by self motivation and team reliance.
Evaluate existing solutions for inclusion in current product offerings
Define, Develop and Test new applications necessary for CIRT to carry on mission of securing GE
Participate in sprint planning and estimations
Drive change by acknowledging customer value in your designs
Champion solid software engineering practices
Pioneer new approaches and technology
Drive continuous improvement via process optimization and automation to preempt service interruptions
Take ownership of solutions, and provide escalated support
Strong software engineering or IT experience
Hands on experience working with AWS native services (Kinesis, Lambda, RDS)
Strong expertise in writing application code in at least one high-level object oriented language (i.e. Python, Java, Ruby)
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, IT or equivalent industry experience
Demonstrated ability to produce quality unit-tested code
Willingness to mentor other team members if needed
Understanding of security concepts like incident response, secure programing and encrypted network traffic
Previous experience in Agile teams
Passion for software quality
Experience with Continuous Integration and automation
Familiar with additional automated testing - Unit, Functional, Acceptance, Integration
Experience with non-web software solutions
Familiar with *nix systems
Ability to function within a global organization
Strong oral and written communication
Strong experience with orchestration tools such as Puppet, Chef and Ansible is a plus
