Essential Responsibilities: The Edison Engineering Development Program (EEDP) is a technical career accelerator program for people who have a passion for technology, are committed totechnical excellence and share in GE’s core values. The program is designed to fosterparticipants’ professional development through technical training and a variety of business-critical assignments. Edison graduates have the technical and business foundation to proactively and continually make innovative contributions to GE’s future. At the Global Research Center, EEDP is a two-to three-year entry level program for Master’s Degreed individuals consisting of three or more rotational assignments. Rotational assignments are engineering projects driven by real GE business priorities in areas including artificial intelligence, machine learning, advanced analytics, robotics, advanced controls, additive manufacturing, high-temperature alloys,and electric machine design. Thecore engineering skills gained through assignments are enhanced through advanced engineering coursework and mentoring from world-class technologists. We are looking for curious, capable, and creative engineers to join the Global Research Edison program in 2018. As an Edison Engineer, you will:
Collaborate with your assignment leader in setting realistic and challenging research goals; contribute to team accomplishments
Conduct leading-edge research with diverse, multidisciplinary teams
Receive mentorship and coaching from world-class technologists and experienced technical managers
Grow your knowledge base in an area of your choice or seek broader exposure to new technologies or processes
Create innovative solutions using your analytical problem solving skills
Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Applied Math, Data Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Materials Science/Engineering
Demonstrated academic excellence (minimum GPA 3.0 on a 4.0 scale)
Relocation to Niskayuna, NY; this position is based in the Global Research offices in Niskayuna, NY
