Role Summary: This Senior Staff Services Architect role is well suited for a highly motivated, growth-oriented technical leader responsible for architecting services execution projects for large scale, complex Industrial Internet of Things deployments. This requires working closely with GE Digital customers to understand and define requirements, set expectations, and develop the overall system architectures.
Essential Responsibilities: The Solution Architect will oversee multiple services projects, creating new solution approaches, supporting the improvement of our products, and helping to set architectural direction for our services organization. This is a senior level position requiring demonstrated mastery of industrial software, data management, system integrations, SaaS technologies and experience with the GE Predix platform. You will collaborate with Services Project and Program Managers, GE Digital software development teams, product management teams, and partners to engage with strategic customers to build their Industrial Internet solutions on Predix.
In this role, you will: • Anticipate requirements and trends to drive Industrial Internet solutions that are relevant to the business strategy. • Proactively seek delivery of value to customers, driving improved solutions, speed of delivery, and reusability. • Proactively engage with multiple customers to define common requirements across projects and consistency in technical approach. • Provide system level design and technical oversight of Industrial Internet solution implementations. • Apply technical and planning skills to estimate time and effort required for new, complex projects. • Establish broad review processes to improve and obtain support for proposed solutions. • Effectively leverage product capability, driving standardization, limiting customization, and maximizing reuse of best practices and proven solutions. • Engage throughout the full lifecycle of assigned projects, influencing decisions on architecture, design, and functionality to keep programs on track in terms of budget, time, and customer expectations. • Effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, with peers and team members, as an inclusive leader, supporting business development, consulting efforts, and project execution. • Effectively apply GE digital execution methodology and project standards.
Qualifications/Requirements: • BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or another related engineering field. • 10+ years’ experience in industrial software services or product development functions. • Minimum 5 years’ experience designing or implementing IIOT applications (Industrial Internet of Things). • Recognized for broad knowledge of the Predix Platform and application best practices. • Understanding of competitive product technologies to influence product and marketing champions. • Experience in software analysis, design, quality assurance, SW methodology, and architecture. • Experience with Agile/Scrum software development methodologies and DevOps tools and processes. • Deep understanding of cloud technologies including microservice architectures and MS Azure. • Experience with enterprise software and large distributed systems. • Excellent communication skills, team player, with ability to lead and energize. • Strong multi-tasking, organizational, and time management skills. • Ability to work as part of a team and as an individual contributor. • Strong business acumen in a leading edge technical environment. • Strong spoken and written English language skills. • Proven ability to write clear, concise requirements, and design documents. • Ability to travel up to 50%

• Experience in architecting and deploying Asset Performance Management systems • Experience in manufacturing IT, infrastructure (power, water, aviation, etc.) • Experience with development in an ISO-certified environment • Direct experience leading deployment of cloud solutions and traditional premise-based industrial software solutions
Technical Expertise: • Able to make or recommend decisions based on in-depth analysis; Able to define critical problems to be solved; Identifies data sources required to execute analytic; With guidance from manager, able to select and conduct advanced analytic techniques; Uses a formal process to present findings and recommend specific actions that relate to business objectives. • Lead customer facing deep technical collaboration sessions to aligning our current SW capabilities and product roadmaps with our customer’s business outcomes • Demonstrated capability to see around corners and prescribe architectures or solutions targeted to maximum scalability, repeatability and supportability; Able to synthesize data governance and security opportunities where appropriate; Possesses astute holistic understanding of to-be product roadmaps and ability to mitigate risks via multi-generational proposals to iterate on value delivery Demonstrates ability to diagnose and solve intermediate to advanced issues; Can isolate highly complex scenarios down to actionable items and drive solutions across disparate functions. • Possesses deep level of knowledge about overall network implementation from customer site to GE datacenter; Able to utilize networking tools to identify and resolve complex networking errors; Able to design and implement network architecture for global sites to access the GE Cloud securely and with high performance. • Demonstrates superior problem solving ability and impact analysis of corresponding systems/processes. Innovates creative solutions to drive customer and business outcomes leveraging business acumen, technical expertise and industry knowledge. • Possesses deep understanding of an entire product line, with significant domain experience in the same industry; Understands the customers’ needs at a level which results in proactive discussions about product roadmap.
