Role Summary:
Lead the materials function at a world class locomotive Service Shop. Ensure uninterrupted supply of materials to support locomotive maintenance operations. Work to resolve Materials issues while achieving and maintaining inventory business metrics. Partner with operations leaders to drive just in time material flow for work orders in the GE SmartShop environment. Work strategically to drive material flow process by deploying Lean / Six Sigma methodology.

Essential Responsibilities:
As the point person for a team, you will be responsible for:
• Inventory management
o Supplier material Stream
o Stocking levels
o Transactional Process Support
• Resource allocation
• Lean manufacturing / material initiatives and support
• Establishing and maintaining a teamwork environment with Sourcing
• Positive supplier relationships
• Timely escalation of critical issues to Leadership
• Setting up standard processes, benchmarking it with other GE sites
• Digitization/Automation of Manual process for better productivity
• Driving productivity initiatives in Materials department
• Participation & preparation for Inventory/PAR, other calls

1. Bachelors degree and 8 - 12 years supply chain experience
2. Proven ability to drive change initiatives in a matrix environment
3. Ability to successfully motivate and maintain employee involvement while driving change

Quality Specific Requirements:
1. Aware of and comply with the Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position
2. Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines
3. Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required
4. Knowledge and understanding of production process work instructions and operates within them to ensure that a device conforms to its specifications

1. Certified Black Belt
2. Oracle knowledge and experience
3. Lean Manufacturing Experience
4. OMLP Graduate
5. Lean Manufacturing AWO Leadership Experience
6. MBA or Masters Degree
