Role Summary:
The Global Market Strategy & Innovation Director will drive the channel strategy & innovation activity for GE Digital Channels & Alliances across the world e.g.U.S., Middle East, Europe, APAC etc. This leader will be the first and leading point of contact for identifying new areas of channel growth.

Essential Responsibilities:

As GE Digital expands globally, we need an experienced strategy leader to identify, develop & execute on new Channel growth avenues. The individual will work closely with GE Global Growth Organization (GGO), GE local business units, GE Digital commercial team, GE Digital Channels & Alliance colleagues to accelerate GE Digital platform and solutions adoption locally.

The Global Market Strategy & Innovation Director leads the regional channel strategy & growth efforts for GE Digital Ecosystems & Channels in key growth markets – e.g. U.S., Europe, Middle East, China, Japan and rest of Asia. Identify, new class of channel partners for each region by vertical and solution focus. Build out market entry, competitive positioning, market opportunity & product readiness for channel business globally. The individual will be responsible for creating net new business, financial and commercial models, set the channel strategy, and business plans.

Manage long-term planning within the region for the GE Digital business strategy; contributing to the overall business and partner strategy. Develop inorganic growth strategy, identify and select opportunities including review of target companies. Evaluate and structure commercial deals

Qualifications/Requirements:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college
  • At least 7 years experience in business or product/service/solution innovation; of which at least 3 years prior work experience in Software or Technology Industry & 2 years of financial, commercial & business model experience

    Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be willing to work 50% based in San Ramon, 25% US travel, 25% international travel
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. GE may agree to sponsor an individual for an employment visa now or in the future if there is a shortage of individuals with particular skills.

    Desired Characteristics:
  • Master's degree from an accredited institution (MBA preferred)
  • Channel Strategy & Innovation experience and contract negotiation + commercial, financial & business model innovation with channel partners
  • Investment banking, Mergers & Acquisitions, and/or management consulting background

    1. Lead & develop channel & ecosystem innovation strategy


    a. Drive the digital partner growth strategy, working with key GE stakeholders in regions and countries

    b. Share, socialize and bind the partner strategy roadmap (3 month, 12 month and 3 year)

    c. Identify potential next gen channels partners, and qualify their potential within the GE Digital partner ecosystem

    d. Recruit potential partners, and formally engage them within the GE Digital Alliance Program

    e. Drive strategy by helping incubate new partners to the program

    f. Build a qualified go-to-market plan and then hand off to a channel account manager for day to day management

    g. Drive global partner channel innovation strategy in the region by leveraging best practices

    h. Work with global and local GE Digital team to prioritize and implement targeted plans with new channel partners

    i. Collaborate with broader Ecosystem & Product teams on cross-functional activities to help scale new channel partners

    2. Regional roll out and scaling of the GE Digital Ecosystem & Channels Program


    a. Accelerate program regional roll out by sharing best practices across regions

    b. Aligning the local conditions of success, but bring local context and key in-regional relationships

    c. Regional relay of partner operations, go-to-market, marketing teams

    d. Bind relationship between regional stakeholders: partners, GE Digital regional commercial team, regional GGO leadership, GE P&L regional leadership

    3. Collaborate cross functionally and cross GE organizations to drive key customer, must-win, commercial opportunities

    4. Attract, develop and lead talent to manage new channel partners and support the innovation of the channel partner ecosystem.

  • Building channel partners and strategic alliances in tech industry, cross-functional leadership experience, problem solving, communicating new ideas
