Role Summary: The Linux System Administrator will provide development and operational support for numerous Enterprise level server infrastructure environments supporting a portfolio of transportation related software products. In this role, you will be part of a cross-functional team that ensures the effective delivery of LINUX development, implementation, optimization, and production solutions within a distributed multi-program environment.
In addition, you will provide Linux administration in the following areas:
Daily system administration for large, highly virtualized Linux environments (system hardening, directory authentication, patching, hardware, etc.)
Linux server deployment, optimization, application design / architecture, system upgrades and patching and customer support
Troubleshoot and diagnose advanced Linux server issues, including reliability issues, performance concerns, software bugs, and hardware failures
Assist in the design and implementation of existing and new technologies and services in support of program project initiatives
Apply Linux administration knowledge and experience to ensure IT best practices are consistently applied to the server infrastructure architecture and operational support services
Proactively apply IT asset life-cycle management and capacity planning practices across the server infrastructure to ensure the optimal support of dynamic program requirements
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
8+ years experience in LINUX system administration.

Active RHCSA and/or RHCE certification
Minimum of 4 years of experience in Red Hat System Administration
Minimum of 2 years of experience in Computer Security administration
Minimum of 3 years of VMWARE Experience, Windows and Linux machines
Minimum of 1 year experience supporting/building AWS environments
Minimum of 1 year of Network Experience, working understanding of Firewalls, switches, routers, etc.
Ability and willingness to travel as required (<5%)
