Role Summary: The Commercial Manager is responsible for delivering high quality proposals to the customer base, to best position the GE Power Digital Team to secure new opportunities and drive growth. These will cover GE Digital software portfolio across the Electric Value Network, including, Predix, APM, ServiceMax, and Smallworld GIS, primarily in UK and Europe, but extending to all Regions at times.
Essential Responsibilities: In this role, you will own and manage key proposal generation activities, leveraging the tendering and approvals processes and ensuring all documentation is compelling and delivered to the highest standards. You will lead core teams by influencing and collaborating with your peer groups across the Product, Services and Support organisations to ensure both the technical and commercial requirements are captured. You will be accountable for both functional, business and broad company objectives.
In your daily activities, you will:
Own and be responsible for generating customer proposals across the Electric Value Network for GE Digital’s Software product lines, such as Predix, APM, ServiceMax, and Smallworld GIS and other related software applications - Manage and ensure compliance to all Tendering Policies, and adherence to all Tendering processes
Ensure the commercial (contractual and pricing) and technical aspects of the proposal are complete and GE solutions in the most competitive way
Drive an improved Order to Remittance (OTR) turnover process to the project delivery teams, ensuring proper control of contract flow-down requirements
Maintain a complete record of approvals on terms and conditions within the approved GE tools
Conduct and lead negotiations with customers and partners to appropriately resolve contractual and commercial issues in order to finalize deals
Understand and support the implementation of order - booking requirements
Take personal responsibility for quality and accuracy of proposal response related to terms and conditions and commercial risk management, and for winning business with integrity and within the strategies set forth for the opportunity
Work to implement, improve and drive consistent processes, tools and methodologies
Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Technology field or equivalent knowledge or experience
Strong relevant work experience
Fluency in English, Spanish and French languages
Additional Languages beneficial
Excellent negotiation skills with experience of contractual terms and conditions
Good understanding of product pricing and strategies
Team player who leverages collaborative approach at all times, with strong work ethic and commitment to job
Can do attitude with desire to succeed and get the job done
Knowledge of Utility Enterprise (IT), Operational and Engineering (OT) software solutions
Understanding of Software and licensing solutions
Knowledge of the Power Generation, Transmission and Distribution (T&D) industry and customers
Experience in generating complex systems proposals
Strong presentation skills
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
Contract negotiations (terms and conditions) experience
