Role Summary:
Works on multiple Data & Information projects as a project leader or internal consultant. Works on highly complex projects that require in-depth domain knowledge in big data and traditional data & analytics architectures.

Essential Responsibilities:

In this role you will:

  • Leads and coordinates the data domain technical and business discussions relative to future big data architecture direction across GE Healthcare data & analytics.
  • Analyzes, designs and develops a roadmap, design pattern, and implementation plan based upon a current vs. future state in a cohesive architecture viewpoint.
  • Review and/or analyzes and develops architectural requirements at data domain level within product portfolio or team.
  • Contributes to the development of data patterns and data delivery platforms that are service-oriented with reusable components that can be orchestrated together into different methods for different businesses.
  • Leads the research and evaluation of emerging data technology, industry and market trends to assist in project development and/or operational support actives.
  • Develops, motivates and directs staff to create a team environment.

    Qualifications/Requirements:

    Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math).
  • A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in a technical area (Architecture, Software, or Information Technology) or (a high school diploma / GED with at least 8 years of experience in Information Technology or Software).

    Eligibility Requirements:

  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. GE may agree to sponsor an individual for an employment visa now or in the future if there is a shortage of individuals with particular skills.
  • Must be willing to travel up to 10%.
  • Must be willing to work out of an office located in Wauwatosa WI or Chicago IL.

    Desired Characteristics:

    Technical Expertise:

  • Strong knowledge of big data technologies such as Hadoop, Hive, Spark, Sqoop, Ambari, Hbase.
  • Strong knowledge of ETL technologies such as Talend, HVR, Informatica.
  • Experience with scripting such as Python, Jaql, Ruby.
  • Experience working in Agile SDLC.
  • Familiarity with cloud architectures such as AWS.

    Business Acumen:

  • Ability to understand business processes impacting platform and data architecture.
  • Ability to collaborate with functional and regional stakeholders to align business processes to arrive at platform architecture capabilities.
  • Skilled in breaking down problems, documenting problem statements and estimating efforts
  • Has the ability to analyze impact of technology choices.
  • Skilled in negotiation to align stakeholders and communicate a data & analytics architecture strategy. Balances value propositions for competing stakeholders.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of technologies in the market to help make buy vs build recommendations, scope MVPs, and to drive market timing decisions.

    Leadership:

  • Ability to takes ownership of small and medium sized tasks and deliver while mentoring and helping team members.
  • Ensures understanding of issues and presents clear rationale. Able to speak to mutual needs and win-win solutions. Uses two-way communication to influence outcomes and ongoing results.
