Role Summary: The Senior Machine Electrical Engineer - GE Additive is focused on the design and manufacturing of additive machines (powder bed and other modalities, powder handling systems, etc.) in addition to the additive manufacturing process. This position requires a balance of theoretical and hands-on skills to be able to introduce new technologies into the additive machine space to improve industrialization readiness, fine feature resolution, integrate into digital, and increase machine size and speed.
Essential Responsibilities: In addition, the Senior Machine Electrical Engineer - GE Additive will :
Develop additive machine technology for powder bed and other modalities
Responsible for assembly and evaluation of electrical systems, components, and integration to ensure machine operation effectiveness.
Confirms machine electrical components and system quality, reliability, and capabilities by designing and executing appropriate testing methods.
Develops electrical power and control systems improvements as needed to improve capability or eliminate failures.
Develops and documents manufacturing processes for electrical component and system assemblies to ensure safety and reliability.
Specify needs, communicate about project approach and present outcomes of research done
Deliver products as part of a team
Work on cross functional teams
Lead analytical and design activities using proven technologies and vested approaches and methods
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in manufacturing or engineering)
Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing or engineering
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT :
Ability and willingness to relocate domestically or internationally as required
Eletrical or Electro-Mechanical design experience with designing hardware, machine tools, equipment, etc.
Systems level design / engineering experience
Software / controls experience
Laser / optics experience
Experience in the field of additive manufacturing
Experience in additive machine service
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Ability to influence others and lead small teams
Lead initiatives of moderate scope and impact
Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously
