Role Summary: GE Renewable Energy includes Onshore Wind, Offshore Wind, Hydro Solutions. GE Renewable Energy EID positions in the US are primarily Onshore Wind focused. We are solving some the most complex challenges across the globe.
Essential Responsibilities: Technical EID assignment opportunities in Engineering are broad including but not limited to Systems, Analysis, Design, Aero, Controls, Performance and Validation, Materials & Processes, Services & Repair, as well as provide manufacturing and field issues support and more.
As the GE Renewable Energy Technical EID (Intern/Co-Op), you will:
Develop and implement new design concepts and design improvements
Work with the drafting team to create or update the drawings, and partner with the manufacturing team to solve problems that arise out of the complex manufacturing processes required to make these parts
Support manufacturing engineering projects involving manufacturing process improvements and product cost reduction
Qualifications/Requirements: Must be enrolled in a full-time undergraduate or graduate program in an engineering discipline as listed below.
Following majors accepted: Aeronautical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Eng, Electrical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Material Science Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Other Energy related Engineering majors considered
Must maintain a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA (without rounding)
Desired Characteristics: Preference will be given to persons with 3.2/4.0 overall or higher GPA, majoring in Mechanical Eng, Electrical Eng, Aero Eng, Materials Eng, and other Energy Engineering related majors that have prior intern, co-op, or research experience in an engineering environment; that have a strong commitment to a career in technology and a passion for engineering; that have demonstrated an analytic approach to problem solving; and that have demonstrated leadership skills, community involvement, and excellent written and oral communication skills.
