GE EC assignments provide students with opportunities to work with experienced leaders in the following areas: Substation and Power Plant. In addition to challenging projects, these assignments provide interns & co-ops the opportunity to build leadership and functional skills through workshops, training, and networking activities.
Essential Responsibilities: Working under the direction of the Senior Electrical Engineer, Trainee program assignments may include:
To assist the design team in preparing drawing packages
To assist in producing technical details using knowledge of engineering materials and installation techniques
To assist in the production of substation/ power plant specifications
To assist in preparing documentation for submission to customer
To assist in preparing presentation material and reports
To use CAD systems to start/ correct drawings of projects
Communicate with other technical staff, both internally and externally
To assist in solving complex design issues through the use of sustainable and quality design solutions
To adhere to existing working practices, methods, procedures, undertake relevant training and development activities and to respond positively
Enforce appropriate Health and Safety procedures and precautions
Electrical engineering students with availability 5 days a week for 6 hours
Electrical Engineering Degree expected conclusion: beginning of 2019
Microsoft Office Tools: Word, Excel and Power Point, Microsoft Visio
Analyze, organize, and problem solve frequently and efficiently
Ability to communicate status and actions effectively
English is a must
