Role Summary:
GE EC assignments provide students with opportunities to work with experienced leaders in the following areas: Substation and Power Plant. In addition to challenging projects, these assignments provide interns & co-ops the opportunity to build leadership and functional skills through workshops, training, and networking activities.


Essential Responsibilities:
Working under the direction of the Senior Electrical Engineer, Trainee program assignments may include:
  • To assist the design team in preparing drawing packages
  • To assist in producing technical details using knowledge of engineering materials and installation techniques
  • To assist in the production of substation/ power plant specifications
  • To assist in preparing documentation for submission to customer
  • To assist in preparing presentation material and reports
  • To use CAD systems to start/ correct drawings of projects
  • Communicate with other technical staff, both internally and externally
  • To assist in solving complex design issues through the use of sustainable and quality design solutions
  • To adhere to existing working practices, methods, procedures, undertake relevant training and development activities and to respond positively
  • Enforce appropriate Health and Safety procedures and precautions


Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Electrical engineering students with availability 5 days a week for 6 hours
  • Electrical Engineering Degree expected conclusion: beginning of 2019
  • Microsoft Office Tools: Word, Excel and Power Point, Microsoft Visio
  • AutoCad
  • Analyze, organize, and problem solve frequently and efficiently
  • Ability to communicate status and actions effectively
  • English is a must
