Current, powered by GE, is looking for a Pre Sales IOT Solution Architect to join its Digital team. The Pre Sales IOT Solution Architect will play a key role in delivering successful digital solutions for our customers.
He/she will work with the Commercial Leader in proposing valid solutions for the markets providing technical support to our sales and business development activities by leading Energy Management and Intelligent Environment assessments to architect solutions and produce customer proposals. The Pre Sales IOT Solution Architect will also work with the project team in deploying the solution. He/she will also participate in training internal Current resources in the specifics of The GE Current solution deployments. In this role, you will also bring technical and business requirements back to our development teams helping ensure our solutions continue to meet our customer’s needs.
Establish a deep understanding of our customer’s business and technical needs
Create a “trusted technical advisor” relationship with our customer’s technologists and internal technical teammates
Work with the Commercial Leader to analyze customers’ existing building system configurations in order to propose a new solution based on Current’s technologies
Conduct technical sales presentations and workouts at customer sites to determine use cases and outcomes
Provide deep SW / HW technical architecture feedback to our product management teams to ensure proper solution design
Have the ability to drive key customer facing meetings and events, particularly C level discussions
Construct and develop RFI/RFP responses
Develop solution architecture framework to support solution selling on an enterprise level supported by a business case and roadmap tailored for the customer
Generate design drawings, installation instructions, bills of material and any other such documents necessary for the successful implementation of the solution(s)
Provide training to customer resources
Be a digital resident expert for Current
Provide training to Current resources on building systems installation and operations
Signiificant experience supporting and designing complex software solutions in commercial and/or industrial environments
Significant expertise in developing, selling, and delivering SW / HW solutions, including creating and executing propositions and a track record of success
Deep understanding of the technology stack to include OS, DB, middleware, application layer, virtualization, security, WAN / LAN and cloud technologies including multi-datacenter, multi-tenant, integration with on premise IAM
POC design, testing, support on complex hybrid cloud services offer (e.g. UCaaS or equivalent)
Experience of the IoT landscape and emerging technologies as it relates to the commercial and industrial environment
Experience in the BMS/EMS industry or similar type of applied software/hardware system being sold into the commercial & industrial environment
Knowledge of building subsystem equipment (e.g. HVAC, Lighting, Refrigeration). Must understand the vendor landscape, best & legacy design practices, emerging technologies. Experience in designing/integrating refrigeration control systems a big plus
Demonstrated experience in integrating multiple control systems with different protocols (e.g. BACnet, Lonworks, legacy/proprietary…). Must understand the vendor landscape, best & legacy design practices, emerging technologies. Tridium AX certification is strongly preferred. Zigbee mesh networking experience strongly preferred
Ability in dealing with contractors: application partners, electricians, mechanical engineers, etc.
Strong knowledge of building subsystem energy consumption analysis. Demonstrated experience in designing, estimating and executing energy conservation measures in commercial buildings (e.g. VFD’s, LED retrofits)
Strong interpersonal skills, including creativity and curiosity with ability to effectively communicate and influence solution direction to both technical and non-technical audiences alike across all organizational levels
Technical acumen to interface with technologists, understand complex concepts and translate in a way that businesses or industry can understand
Demonstrated strong business acumen, problem solving and creative skills, ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on market and customer trends – go beyond the status quo
Ability to deal with ambiguity, strategic agility, manage diversity and drive for results
Strong problem solving skills along with excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent ability to train other resources
Must have experience in supporting sales efforts across the UK and the EU
Willing to travel 50-70%% of the time
Bachelor level degree in computer science/engineering or equivalent
Technically conversant in English and one other language
Knowledge of IoT relevant wireless technologies and protocols such as 802.11, 802.15.4.
RF communication product development, testing and measurement experience using ZigBee.
Hands‐on experience in C/C++ software or firmware development, scripting (eg. TCL, Perl, Python) and embedded Linux OS.
Hands‐on experience in MCU based board bring‐up, debug and testing.
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
Technically conversant in French, German and or Spanish preferable.
Proven ability to work globally in a multi-cultural, multi discipline environment
