Role Summary: Drive quality for assigned suppliers, including quality plan implementation. Select suppliers through qualification processes. Own supplier results, drive improvements utilizing supplier scorecards. Own supplier audits, ensuring compliance, and driving improvement plans where needed. Positions requiring understanding of a concepts, methods and procedures to enable sourcing execution.
Essential Responsibilities: New part development for machining, castings for metal commodities. Knowledge in new supplier development for short cycle projects in NPI’s, product development. Assess Capacity and techno-commercial Capability of Indian supply base for various Mechanical, and Electro-Mechanical components. Sourcing scope will cover both Indian market and exports to GE entities or customers around the world Identify potential suppliers for various mechanical & electronic commodities & facilitate their on-boarding (non-disclosure agreement, White Paper assessment, compliance audits etc.) Work with Sourcing Managers/ Global Commodity Leaders / Site Sourcing Leaders for RFQ packages for potential opportunities, get techno-commercial offer from suppliers Lead techno-commercial discussions with suppliers, facilitate competitive negotiations to drive volume & deflation in Region Collaborate with cross functional teams (engineering, quality, global supply chain, product line) to understand sourcing needs, strategy, commitments, technical and quality requirements Participate in GE Corporate Sourcing initiatives to leverage best practices, partner with other business commodity leaders, sourcing leaders and peers to maximize synergies and leverage supplier base Look for cost out opportunities, engage cross functional teams to implement projects to reduce product cost Do competition landscaping to understand product base cost and leverage best practices Achieve all financial and operational targets.
Qualifications/Requirements: Bachelors Degree in Engineering. 5-10 years’ experience in sourcing/ global supply chain function Ability to manage multiple P&Ls and work closely with global teams High level of negotiation skills, contracting expertise. Knowledge of fabrication, castings, forgings and machined components. Knowledge of GE processes will be an added advantage
