Role Summary: Candidate will be responsible to support Industrial Solutions product design team by carrying out CFD and heat transfer analyses for circuit breaker & switchgear products. He/she should also drive the validation strategy for these simulations leveraging the test labs. Should have very high penchant for engineering analysis and analytical work.
Essential Responsibilities: Conjugate fluid flow and heat transfer simulations Design of User Defined Functions (UDFs) to enhance the solver capabilities based on Physics based models and Regression equations Performing and mentoring multi-physics simulations (Fluid-structural, Emag-Thermal, Emag-Structural, Thermal-structural etc.) Form and lead global user group to advance individuals skills and accelerate the modeling benefits for the engineering teams Provide CAE support in phase of product development and product enhancement Communication with global review team and product design team Documentation of analysis results Coordinating the validation efforts of predictive models Competency development in predictive engineering globally Contribute to development and implementation of predictive engineering road map for CFD and Multiphysics platforms Documentation of best predictive practices in the form of Design guides and Design Practices
Qualifications/Requirements: 8-10 years of hands-on CFD and Thermal FEA analysis experience. An in-depth knowledge of Computational Fluid Dynamics methodology/solvers is required Should have strong knowhow of levers which enable solution convergence. Good knowledge of methods to simplify continuum in analysis to achieve quick results with less loss in accuracy of solution.
Working knowledge of development of regression equations using the results from predictive models build around design of experiments to reduce the analysis dependency in the long run.
Hands on experience in ANSYS FLUENT/CFX a must have. Should act as a dependable expert to provide design recommendations to the product design team in these areas . Ability to convert problem statements into modelling strategy definition and results into solutions is essential. The ideal candidate shall be able to judge and interpret the analysis results and review the work of team members with critical attitude. Strong mathematical and analytical skills. Exposure to ANSYS Maxwell, Mathematical solvers like Matlab are added advantage. Proficiency in advanced topics such as moving meshes, adaptive time stepping, dynamic updates of gas properties based on UDFs and automation of analysis process in Ansys environment are beneficial.
Educational requirements M.Tech/ M.E. with Specialization in Mechanical/ Thermal engineering.
