Role Summary:
 
Baker Hughes, a GE company Downstream Chemicals has an opening for a Sales Manager – Downstream Chemicals in New Orleans, Louisiana. In this role, you will:
  • Develop and implement sales strategies for New Orleans area accounts
  • Assist with the development of short and long range sales goals
  • Lead and oversees activities of chemical technicians
  • Ensure compliance with Sales and Service Standards at a key customer accounts
  • Engage and communicate with plant management at customer facilities
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Manages existing refining applications site teams for a major client
  • Identifies and closes new sales growth opportunities
  • Leads and oversees activities within assigned applications
  • Leads and develops team of chemical technicians
  • Interfaces across the internal organization
  • Builds strong relationships with key customers through value-selling and entertainment
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 8+ years of process chemical treatment experience within a refinery or 8+ years of experience in a refinery engineering position
  • 8+ years Downstream industrial sales
  • Lube or fuels blending experience
  • Experience working with Excalibur and TG FAMS.
  • Strong understanding of emulsification, corrosion control, fouling control, and finished fuel additives
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent negotiating skills
  • Expertise in sales and marketing
  • Strong at building customer relationships at all levels of customer organization 
Desired Characteristics:
  • Bachelors of Science Degree in Engineering or Sciences field
  • 5+ years of people management / development experience
  • On call position
  • As needed field support
  • Company car provided
  • Company computer provided
