The Calibration Technician will demonstrate accountability and accuracy for the calibration of aviation equipment. In this role, you will understand and adhere to processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex calibration issues within functional area of expertise, and contribute to the overall business strategy.
Calibration Technician is responsible for the calibration and documentation of instrumentation equipment located in multiple industrial environments such as manufacturing, assembly and test cells. Specific duties may include working knowledge of pressure gages, pressure transducers, temperatures, AC/DC high voltage meters, chart recorders, multimeters, Selsyns, Encoders, force gauges, scales & balances, induction heaters, dial thermometer, ammeters, accelerometers. More complicated electronics include: Charge Amps, Vibe Analyzers, Chopper Amplifiers, Flow Computers. All Welders, Inertia welders, portable welders, table speeds, wire feed, High temperature oven surveys and probes functions, air purifiers.
Additional responsibilities include troubleshooting, measurement equipment use, instrument repair, Metrack “documentation” tracking system, MS Excel, Outlook, data storage and retrieval.
High School Diploma / GED
Calibration Technician Certification (CCT) or five years of on-the-job experience in one or more of the areas of the ASQ Certified Calibration Technician Body of Knowledge
Must be able to work with hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, electronics and computers.
Ability to lift, move and manipulate fixtures and component hardware up to 50 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodations
Ability to work in confined areas and ability to work off platforms and heights
This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment.
Five years of experience as a certified calibration technician working in an industrial environment
Have knowledge and contribute to creating a safe culture in an industrial setting
Ability to troubleshooting mechanical / electrical problems
Must be familiar with industrial and NIST regulations
Excellent communication ability
Possess strong electrical and mechanical abilities
Able to use basic tools and machinery
Ability to schedule, coordinate and execute calibration plans across the site
Ability to relate with and work with customers across matrixed teams
Working knowledge of aviation industrial equipment
