Role Summary: You will spray a variety of objects such as valves, clutch plates, and cylinder linings, on production basis, to coat them with specified thickness of metal.
Essential Responsibilities: In the role of Production Operator you will:
Clean and roughen surface of object in sand or shot blast cabinet
Fasten objects in fixture or between bench centers
Preheat object for spraying
Move controls to set specified rate of wire feed and flow of oxygen and fuel gases through metalizing gun
Ignite gases to melt wire and press button or trigger to release compressed air which atomizes and sprays molten metal onto work piece
Measure parts / objects to be sprayed during and after the process, accurately weigh wire and powder to ensure objects are properly coated, direct spray over object to apply coating of specified thickness; this will be done by using a HVOF, Sulzer Wire Machine and Terodyne 2000 unit
Maintain a clean work area
Complete spraying projects within specified time frame
Assemble and disassemble spray equipment to ensure proper maintenance is done
High School Diploma / GED from an accredited school or institution
Minimum 1 year of experience in a machine shop
Work overtime, weekends and holidays, as required
Work in a constant pushing, pulling, lifting, stretching, bending and other physical activities
Be in the shop environment a minimum of 8 hours per day, primarily standing and sitting, as required
Lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
Wear required PPE, as required
Read simple measuring instruments, as required
Able to maintain accuracy and consistency of worked parts
