Role Summary:

The Core Technologies team at GE Digital, San Ramon is
responsible for operational delivery and support of production cloud
infrastructure of Industrial Internet services and applications. GE Transport
Intelligence is leading the way with Predix leveraged Edge Devices for
Transportation industry providing new Software and IoT capabilities to new
markets with their suite of SW product designs Cloud deployments and IoT
technologies.



Essential Responsibilities:

In this role, you will:

  • Design, Develop, Implement and support the use of technology
    with geographically distributed infrastructure systems. Provide management of
    the tactical IT plans to ensure they meet current needs and are responsive to
    the future needs. Maintain the integrity of the systems with applying security
    best practices.
  • Manage all internal, co-located and/or cloud-based data
    center and related system.
  • Manage global IT assets including software licenses and
    hardware full lifecycle management.
  • Supervise and provide technical leadership to technical
    staff and ensure compliance with appropriate policies.
  • Develop and manage adherence to departmental Change
    Management and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Define, develop, maintain, and test Standard Operating
    Procedures (SOPs) for all operational processes.
  • Participate in budgeting, process and manage IT
    Infrastructure related projects and investments.
  • Identify and respond to technology related professional
    growth needs for all staff members and train staff appropriately.



Qualifications/Requirements:

Basic Qualifications:



  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors
    (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
  • Minimum of 5 years of IT experience.
  • Experienced with DevOps tools such as Jenkins, Ansible, or GIT.







Eligibility Requirements:

Desired Characteristics:

  • Knowledge/experience in Cloud Foundry
  • Hands-on experience in 24x7x365 technical operations or SaaS
    Operations preferred.
  • Hands-on management of SaaS platform.
  • Experience in implementation of Operational tools like
    deployment, provisioning, monitoring, performance measurement tools etc.
  • Experienced in design, performance, availability and
    scalability of the infrastructure.
  • Understands cloud solution approaches from a technical
    (infrastructure), service management, financial and sourcing perspective.
  • Experienced in defining and leading proof of concepts and
    pilots to support the use of cloud computing.
  • Responsible for multiple infrastructure environments –
    development, staging, QA. R&D and production environment monitoring,
    performance, release/deployment, security, reliability, availability, capacity,
    latency, and other non-functional concerns.
  • Has demonstrated the initiative to explore alternate
    technology and approaches to solving problems
  • Skilled in breaking down problems, documenting problem
    statements and estimating efforts.
  • Experience in Designing and building advanced automated
    Infrastructure deployment frameworks.
  • Able to provide hands-on technical leadership in design and
    support of Openstack environment
  • Ability to take ownership of projects and deliver while
    mentoring and helping team.
  • Able to ensure understanding of issues and present clear
    rationale. Able to speak to mutual needs and win-win solutions. Can use two-way communication to influence outcomes
    and ongoing results
  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Effective team building and problem solving abilities
