Role Summary: Water & Process Technologies has an immediate opening for a Sales Representative in the Southwestern Kansas area. In this entry-level role, the incumbent will be responsible for assigned sales activities under supervision of experienced sales professionals for a defined set of existing and new account base within a specific geographical area.
Essential Responsibilities: You will work within defined parameters to make decisions, apply concepts to issues of moderate complexity, and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning.
As the Sales Representative, you will:
Be responsible for defined set of existing and new customers while performing customer service and account maintenance duties
Assist with preparation of sales calls which would include research, proposals / contracts, summaries of sales activities and follow-up
Assist with generating new sales by accompanying experience sales representatives on calls to learn the business and sales approach of the organization
Participate in gathering water samples on site and analyzes results to provide recommendations to improve quality of treatment
Serve as a knowledge resources to customers using GE technology to solve identified water treatment needs
Partner cross-functionally within organization to optimize our solutions offering
Support team in meeting sales targets and is responsible for specified team goals and objectives
Learn and maintains awareness of all safety and environmental practices
Work with current customers and prospects to meet desired sales and service needs
Build customer relationships and communicate at all levels
Actively participate in community events with the customer
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Chemical, Industrial, Petroleum, Petrochemical or Mechanical), Biology or Chemistry
Ability and willingness to travel within territory
Ability and willingness to overnight travel occasionally
Experience in the water treatment field
Ability to effectively manage time and budget or expense parameters
Solid communication skills (both written and verbal)
Demonstrated computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
Strong presentation skills
Strong creative problem solving skills
Strong oral and written communication skills
Sound interpersonal and leadership skills
Strong customer mindset
Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization
