Role Summary: The HV Instrument Transformers Sales Manager - West Region will be customer facing staff responsible for winning business.
As the HV Instrument Transformers Sales Manager - West Region, you will:
Manage current and new customer accounts for ITR sales in the West region
Sell ITR products to all customers : Independent Owned Utilities (IOU’s), Public Power, Industrial (EPC, IPP etc…) accounts
Develop and execute a growth strategy for the region.
Participate to the technical and commercial tendering activity primarily performed by the products sales specialist tendering team based in the HV ITR Waynesboro, GA factory
Lead the channel optimization, pricing and negotiation (technical, commercial, T&Cs, risk ) activities for each opportunity.
Manage in collaboration with the Account managers the sales opportunities for new and existing blankets as well as spot opportunities through SPEAk4GE (Salesforce.com)
Build & maintain relationships with the regional Account Managers, channel partners, and Grid Solutions sales force to drive market share growth
Work directly with Customers to influence instrument transformer specifications and close blankets and spot buys
Provide sales training to Account Managers and channels including opportunity qualification, competitive positioning, specification influence and other initiatives as required
Assess the performance of sales channels to make changes or additions as appropriate to grow orders and sales
Own and deliver financial performance for assigned region and define strategies to grow the ITR product portfolio
Be accountable for meeting or exceeding the orders, sales, and CM plan
Lead resolution development efforts to best address customer needs, while coordinating the involvement of all necessary parties. Provide an essential link from the customer to the factory (engineering, tendering, supply chain, execution, after-sales)
Support the factory as necessary in the execution of orders
Provide forecast (for factory and region), market and competitive intelligence
Work jointly with PL Marketing and Engineering teams to drive development and delivery of new products and services to meet customer needs and improve customer satisfaction
Assist in partner marketing activities such as trade shows and other promotional
Manage expenses within budget
Engineering degree or equivalent (Bachelors at minimum)
Minimum 5 years experience in Sales, Marketing and/or Application Sales
Ability and willingness to travel extensively as required
Experience in the Commercial, Industrial, and the Transmission & Distribution industry
Experience selling into the Transmission & Distribution industry
Technical background with HV instrument transformers, metering, or protection & control
Proven success selling to IOU and thru channel partners
Strong communication and presentation skills
Must be a motivator, self-starter and dedicated team player
Proven sales management skills (both strategic and operational) and ability to manage a diversified sales network
