Role Summary: In the role of Compressor Technician, you will:
Disassemble, clean, inspect and repair if necessary turbomachinery parts and components
Replace defective part with new part or repairs or reproduces part from various kinds of metal stock
Assemble and test machine components to verify correction of malfunction
Complete hydro-test on water jacketed cases as required
High School Diploma/GED from an accredited school or institution
Minimum 3 years of experience in assembly, mechanical or general machine shop
Work overtime, weekends and holidays, as required
Work in a constant pushing, pulling, lifting, stretching, bending and other physical activities
Be in the shop environment a minimum of 8 hours per day, primarily standing and sitting, as required
Lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
Be subjected to extreme heat for extended periods of time
Read and interpret blueprints
Take measurements using various types of micrometers and dial indicators
Have basic hand tools and understand basic operation of hand and power tools
Have wrenches 5/16 through 1 “, hammers, screw drivers, sockets –through ¼, 3/8, ½” drive, 1/2'” pneumatic impact wrench
Adequately apply industrial coatings to product (paint)
Read and understand technical manuals
Basic computer literacy
2-year certificate from technical trade school
Experience in operating forklifts and Cranes preferred
Experience with component repair and assembly of Natural gas compression Engines-Pumps, Heads, Rocker arms, camshafts, followers, Manifolds, blocks, conn rods, crankshaft; Compressor Frames-component repair and assembly, block, crankshaft, conn rods, crossheads, pumps; Compressor cylinders-component repair and assembly of compressor bodies, piston rods, pressure packing, wiper packing, hydrostatic test, compressor valve repair, liner honing, liner installation by interference fit
